Will is a restless researcher.

He writes about everyday life. His approach to human experience is based on sidewalk conversations in Seattle and New York City and his extensive time living in an Alaska Native (Yup’ik) village. His research has spanned mental health and urban homelessness in the U.S., commercial tobacco use in the Mountain West, and salmon fishing in Alaska.

He received formal training in cultural anthropology at Columbia University and University of Wisconsin-Madison.

He wants to someday build wooden boats.
